As I boarded the luxurious Costa Luminosa cruise ship, I could not help but feel excited. I was about to watch a fashion show on top of a cruise ship amongst one of the most stunning backdrops in the world. The cruise ship’s upper deck was about to be transformed to create the first catwalk to ever grace the Sydney Harbour.

Greeted with champagne and canapes on arrival, I was delighted by the breathtaing view that overlooked Sydney's most iconic monuments, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The J Spring Fashion Show 2016 was a fusion of art, architecture, culture and fashion and the event showcased several distinguished designers from all over the world as a select group of us VIPs watched as history was made aboard the luxurious Costa Luminosa. The show featured the latest haute couture as well as ready-to-wear collections bursting with colour, layers and seductive transparency. The collections showcased Australia’s very own talented designer, Begitta, the artistic craftsmanship of Jad Ghandour’s bold statements, Lebanese’s Rouba.G, Pakistan’s Syeda Amera, Romanian duo Chotronette and New Zealand's Beverley Riverina’s exquisite wool collection.

Many of the designs on the catwalk literally had me drooling for more, from french lace to luxurious silks, to intricate woven garments I had quickly fallen in love and had to add some pieces to my wish list. As the event came to an end, more canapes and champagne were served as I mingled with peers in the sumptuous piano cocktail bar.
