ECO RETREAT: THE FARM AT SAN BENITO
Since I first heard about The Farm at San Benito I knew I had to visit this place. After visiting Manila in The Philippines for a friend's wedding I had caught up with my two good friends Lee and Fran. Fran is a yoga and meditation teacher at The Farm and kindly invited me to come check it out with them. The drive took about an hour from Manila and upon arrival I was immediately welcomed by the staff at the Eco Wellness Retreat. As it turns out I got to stay for a couple of days and our room had been upgraded from the garden room to the villa. I took a little tour of the place after settling into our new accommodation. This place had everything you could need to feel well, healthy and alive. It's large property boasted not only regular yoga and meditation classes but also a wonderful spa, medical clinic, an award winning raw restaurant, infinity pools, a waterfall and all types of rooms to suit different needs and budgets. This place even had treatments such as therapeutic massages, colonics and detox treament packages.
Coming to The Farm was such a breath of fresh air and a nice escape form the polluted air and hustle and bustle of the city of Manila. This place is as eco-friendly as it gets, not only do they shut their lights off early in the evenings they also grow most of their own ingredients that they use in their restaurant. This raw restaurant is one of The Farm's highlights, everything is fresh since most produce is grown on the property but also their menu is simply jam packed with wholesome raw and cooked, vegan and non vegan options. The dishes are simply delicious and the flavours burst in your mouth. I found that I didn't even need to eat too much while at The Farm simply because the raw food served was so full of enzymes that I would feel full and have sustained energy throughout the day. Some of the dishes on the menu I ordered were the pesto pasta, raw lasagna, superfood smoothies, detox juices and of course desserts of raw chocolate and raw cheesecakes.
As I loved the food from their infamous 'Alive' restaurant so much, I decided to take home some copies of their exclusive recipe book. If you are looking for a great raw recipe and healthy eating guide then this book is for you. I have some copies exclusively available online at EKOLUV for all you clean eating foodies to enjoy. If you are looking for a place to revive, refresh and revitalise your mind, body and soul then The Farm is the ideal Eco Retreat to visit. For more info you can visit their website at The Farm.
